The Walton Institute team recently presented the work of ENTIRE European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) as part of the EDIH Digital Academy sessions.
The EDIH Academy is a digital platform that provides access to a wide range of online training resources for all EDIH Network members. ENTIRE is proud to be the first Irish EDIH to be featured in this programme.
The EDIH Academy session ‘Dungarvan Enterprise Centre – Understanding the State of Play of the Digital Ecosystem’ was delivered by Walton Institute’s Stephen Barnes on April 3rd 2025.
The purpose of this workshop was to explore and discuss how EDIH Test Before Invest services have explored the current state of the digital landscape of an area, utilising a one-to-many approach which has led to the creation of a strategy for enhancing investment in that region.
The workshop utilised a case study approach based around a single Enterprise Hub with the aims comprising an evaluation and discussion around the issues, obstacles and the strategies that successfully overcame them with the learnings being transferable to other EDIHs across the continent.
The workshop provided a macro level view around digital transformation and the benefits of digital incubators before taking a micro level perspective regarding customer needs, solutions, results and impact for a local regional stakeholder – in this case, Dungarvan Enterprise Centre.
ENTIRE was featured once again the following week, when Walton’s Phelim Dowling gave an overview of the EDIH. He outlined the challenges faced by the team as they scaled their ability to deliver digital services to clients. A full overview of the process implemented by Walton was presented along with tips on how to offer services and how to resource the delivery and administration of those services. The achievements of ENTIRE to date in terms of services delivered and KPI’s were also presented. Stephen Barnes then walked the audience through a case study of a client that engaged with ENTIRE on a number of services.
Both workshops shall continue to be hosted on the EDIH Academy for EDIH members across the continent to view for the duration of the EDIH programmes.
